It is that time again in the calendar when GAIA member firms gather to learn and share best practice and catch up with old friends. This October the conference is being held in the beautiful city of Christchurch, New Zealand, with an extended firm study tour in Napier and Sydney, Australia.
In an ever rapidly evolving financial advisory world, we will be focusing upon growth and transformation enabling GAIA firms to stay ahead of the curve with deeper dives into key strategic areas.
Unlocking Efficiency with AI (Facilitated by Hannah Hardy-Jones): In the first part of our conference, we will dive straight into the topic of AI. The focus will be on helping members understand and visualise how every day small businesses are using AI and what the potential user cases and applications for AI in financial advice businesses. The session will then move to a workshop format where members will be taken through the process of identifying AI opportunities, testing and implementing AI and how to manage this change within our businesses.
Leading with Purpose (Facilitated by Bill Withers): Visionary leaders and a high trust culture that supports purpose-driven leadership lies at the heart of successful advisory firms. In the second part of our conference, we’ll explore how visionary owners shape their organizations’ destiny. We will be challenged to understand what drives our businesses beyond profits and why creating a compelling vision is fundamental for both our teams and our clients. Purposeful leadership relies upon emphasising a business’ values and ethics, which in turn have a long-term impact on the sustainability of all GAIA firms. Additionally, we’ll explore the critical role of trust—both within our teams and with clients—as a foundation for sustainable growth
Knowledge Exchange and Empowering Teams: The final leg of our conference focuses on leading high-performing teams into the future. We believe that knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. Through a visit to the Crusaders (one of the most successful professional rugby teams in New Zealand), we’ll delve into creating a high performing team environment—nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and empowering individuals to thrive and be accountable for their performance. Together, we’ll shape the future of financial advisory services.
As with all GAIA conferences, the topics covered, and the conversations had are the catalysts for positive change that echo far beyond the gathering itself. How lucky are we that all of this is set against the backdrop of outstanding natural beauty of New Zealand with its culture and experiences will interject the event.
